Over the last 30 years, the number of centers performing kidney and liver transplants has significantly increased. Recently, there has been a steady rise in cardiac and lung transplants, and we can expect transplants involving the pancreas and intestines in the future. Radiologists play a crucial role in evaluating patients and identifying complications early on to ensure timely treatment that not only saves organs but also saves lives. With this in mind, we have established the Society of Transplant Imaging and Intervention, an organization solely dedicated to connecting radiologists and physicians involved in transplant patient care to improve patient outcomes.
